Last Day of November

lightsandcardsLast week, on the 22nd, the quiz contest I mentioned in the previous entry was held. I wasn't able to meet my teammates before the 22nd but we got along fine when we did meet (which is great, really). I wasn't able to study much (my teammates too actually, haha) and kind of felt useless during the contest. Still, it was fun. We placed 4th (out of 5 places) in the elimination round. We were still happy about it though, since we didn't place last. We might have gotten into the final round, where the 3 remaining teams fought for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, if we got the spelling for "Tourette's" (in Tourette's syndrome) correct. That question was worth 6 points. :(
Anyway, I spent a bit of time with a teammate after the contest (probably 10:30-11am). She's the only other girl in the team and is a 3rd year student. We were kind of waiting for the free pizza promised to us contestants (apart from not placing last, this was another thing that I was happy about, haha). My teammate left after a while. Her classes for the day were already over and we thought that maybe there wasn't really going to be free pizza so she went home. I had to stay though, since my classes start at 2:30pm. XD Later on though, past 12pm (I think), I got a text saying that the pizza was already in the org room. So I went there... even though I ate already, because, it's pizz and it's free. XD The people I recognized there were people from the Psychology Society (kind of like a student government thing) and the Talent Pool. I'm not sure if the other contestants were also there. I didn't really talk at that time... I ate, then left when most people left. XD
I was included in another contest, the Interactive Exhibit Contest, which was by batch (3 representatives from each section and the class presidents were also helping). The exhibit itself was from the 21st until the 23rd, and we had to make our exhibit before that. I wasn't able to help out that much though because of schedule conflict and stuff.
It was Psych week last week that's why there were contests. There were also other activities like a seminar and an assembly. :)

One of requirements for English class this semester is to read a book and to write a book review about it. The book I chose is "Never Let Me Go" by Kazuo Ishiguro. I bought it on the 26th, (Ohno's birthday ♥) since I thought that we already needed the book to read in English class the next day (but we didn't need it yet). I started reading it. I'm not that far into it yet but I'm liking it. :) I want to buy Positively Mental (Stories Written On The Verge) by Elvira Mata. I got interested in it and happened to read a bit of it while finding a book to read for English in a bookstore. :)

Also, we're back in our house! Yay! Since the flood in August until a few days ago, we were living in another place really near. I wrote the previous entry there. At the bottom of that entry there's a "current residence" written, that's what I called the place. XD We were there for a a few months after the flood, since there were some extensions and stuff done to our house. Now, I have my own bedroom. :D It's my brother's old room. His room is the room my sister and I used to have and my sister's room is a new one which is upstairs on the 3rd floor. She's been sleeping in my room since yesterday but that's probably just because there's no bed in her room yet.
